It takes a team of dedicated and talented volunteers to bring SBDC's live productions to life. Here are a few of the people who helped make The Journey a reality.

Sonia Balazovjech’s heart and soul are most at peace in the dance studio. To her, dancing is no different than breathing, and SBDC has been her perfect creative outlet for the past twelve years. Sonia’s true talent, however, lies in her ability to find synergy among the incredible people that have crossed SBDC’s path along the way. The Journey came as an epiphany during a session of meditation in November 2021. With much grit, dedication, and a team united in their passion, it has now made its way to the stage for all to experience and enjoy.
Robert Lynch
Producer | Soundtrack Creation | Lighting and Visual Design
Rob is an experience guru and has spent over 15 years managing premium touchpoints in the aviation and high-end event sectors. He's also been with SBDC from the very beginning, lending his creative talents to many of our productions. The Journey is Rob & Sonia's latest creation, with Rob first presenting the soundtrack and story to the cast in March of 2022. A stickler for detail, Rob also championed The Journey's lighting design, copywriting, and promotional imagery.

Executive Coordinator
Jaime Scaife
Jaime's journey with SBDC began in 2010, and she's still here today, movin’ and groovin’ with the bestest group of ladies (and Rob), though now in a new capacity. No longer performing alongside the cast, Jaime's role of Executive Coordinator has been pivotal in maintaining SBDC's sustainability amidst the many challenges of the last 3 years. Her journey began 12 years ago and she can’t wait to see what the next 12+ has in-store!
Daniel Gabrielli
Guest Experience Manager
Daniel is a PR, media, and advocacy savant, having help manage the careers of many noteworthy influencers and social-media stars. Most recently, Daniel became one of the founding team members of the Canadian division for Youth to the People, a California-based ethical skincare company. Daniel has worked alongside many of SBDC's volunteers over the last 10 years to ensure an unforgettable experience for supporters and audience-members alike.

Shauna is an accomplished yoga instructor who has completed extensive training in all corners of the world. When not working as a sales analyst in the private jet industry, Shauna shares her profound understanding of meditation, yoga, and fitness with eager clients across Montreal.
Matt is a natural-born performer and long-time supporter of SBDC. Having previously performed alongside SBDC, Kayla Chevalier, and others in the production of Perspectives, Matt returns for The Journey as part of our all-star Front of House team.
A talented singer, vocalist in the SBDC production Perspectives, and - now - a Launch Coordinator at Lightspeed Commerce, Kayla has regularly worked alongside Rob, Daniel, Matt and Anthony to support live productions, including many with SBDC.

Wendy Jensen is an accomplished Talent Acquisition specialist in the tech industry, a former aviation-industry professional, and a genuine gem of a human. She first volunteered with SBDC for the production of OVATION, and returns with enthusiasm to The Journey.
Josiane has been an independent professional photographer for over 30 years. SBDC has been privileged to have her photograph many of our productions, and we are pleased to welcome her back for The Journey.
Anthony is an impeccably talented creator, web developer, sound engineer, musician... and a whole lot more. He's also the man behind the camera who ensures that the magic of The Journey is faithfully captured.

Vanessa founded House of Actors in 2016 and has grown it to be one of Montreal’s most coveted hot spots for young artists looking to better their craft and network with the industry’s elite. She has graciously lent her acting prowess to SBDC through her mentorship and coaching of the cast of The Journey.
Nathalie is an accounting professional in the aviation industry and proud mother of three who originally studied fashion design. Now that her children have grown-up (cast member Alyssa-Marie being one of them!), she has more time to enjoy her creative pursuits.
Leo is a 5-year old Tuxedo Cat who has been present at almost every SBDC meeting, listening session, and late-night think tank. His favourite interests are tiny cardboard boxes, car rides, and licking fresh snow off of visitors' boots.
